4th 2024 Regional Award Winner, Conceptual Design

4th 2024 Regional Award Winner, Conceptual Design - Sawtooth House was design with 3 identical sawtooth roofs to get northern sunlight into the house during winter. The house was facing the ocean due east but this often leaves the house without sunshine penetration after 11am.
Amazing Interior design by Rita @vida.design.studio Used @breezwaylouvrewindows for crossflow ventilation, @awsaustralia for our very large stacker sliders, @stone_style__ for the rock blade walls, @modinexgroup for our Viroc charcoal wall cladding, @hekahoods for awnings.

3rd Award: Best Conceptual Design of a Commercial building. I've run the timber vertically up the blade wall, then horizontally under the soffit for the width of building then down the other side, mirrored yet contrasted by the black powder coated @hekahoods over the windows. Going to be built by

"The Glasshouse"
A great team effort inspired by owner Peter Aubort, polished by @arcodesigns built by Phil Treby and crew. A natural palette using recycled bricks and timbers, off form concrete.
The space is used for yoga, movie nights, meetings, outdoor dining, masquarade balls and awards nights etc. Photography by Joao @herusfilm @groundcurrumbin @breezwaylouvrewindows

Just posting some photo's of one of our Award Winners - "Best Space".
A rainforest atrium designed to throw light and ventilation into the middle of a long house. I designed it so that breezes would flow from one end of house through the @breezwaylouvrewindows over a cooling fishpond and out through louvres into the dining room. A feature rock wall as a backdrop by @stone_style__ . Feature timber lining to walls and ceilings helps enhance the rainforest theme. Interior design by @vida.design.studio and expertly built by @birchbuilding . Photography by @onthegrid_media

“My client wanted something new and something old for this project. The new was to be something that hasn’t been seen on the Gold Coast, a Cafe in a shed in the country. The old is the shed. An old farm shed that used to house machinery for a diary farm was sitting on the boundary and had to be moved.”

Won a State Award for Commercial buildings up to $5m for the cafe at the Ecovillage in currumbin valley @pastureandco_ . Much credit goes to Rita from @vida.design.studio for her amazing interior design and also Peter Aubort from @groundcurrumbin for coming up with the concept and seeing it through to completion. A great team effort ending in a great and very popular result!
